The list of foreign national security prisoners in Tehran’s Evin Prison

At least 28 inmates of those held in hall 12 of ward 7 of Tehran’s Evin Prison are charged with security charges including “espionage” and “communicating with hostile governments.”

Their sentences have been issued by Judge Abolghasem Salavati, who has been cited by the European Union for violations of human rights, on Wednesday August 23.

At least three of them are foreign nationals and citizens of other countries.

The identities of the 28 security prisoners incarcerated in the mentioned hall are as follows:

1. Nazar Zaka, Lebanese-American citizen, sentenced to 10 years behind bars for alleged “deep ties with the U.S. military and intelligence services.”
2. Xiyue Wang, American doctoral student, a Princeton Ph.D. student and US citizen, is sentenced to 10 years behind bars for “communicating with hostile governments (the U.S.).”
3. Shahram Vahdatian, is sentenced to 10 years behind bars for “communicating with hostile governments (the U.S.).”
4. Mehdi Ahmadi, is sentenced to 10 years behind bars for “communicating with hostile governments (the U.S.).”
5. Mohammad Kahkesh, athlete, is sentenced to 10 years behind bars for “communicating with hostile governments (Israel).”
6. Kamal Forughi, British national, is sentenced to 10 years behind bars for “espionage”
7. Afshin Salehi, is sentenced to 10 years behind bars for “communicating with hostile governments (Ukraine).”
8. Seyed Javad Nourjamali, computer engineer, is sentenced to 10 years behind bars for “communicating with hostile governments (Ukraine).”
9. Amir Salimi, is sentenced to 10 years behind bars for “communicating with hostile governments (Saudi Arabia).”
10. Mehdi Tolidi, is sentenced to 2 years behind bars for “communicating with hostile governments (Norway).”
11. Kamran Ghaderi, is sentenced to 10 years behind bars for “communicating with hostile governments (Austria).”
12. Ebrahim Kurd, nurse, is sentenced to 10 years behind bars for “communicating with hostile governments (Turkey).”
13. Kiarash Sabouri, pediatrician, is sentenced to 10 years behind bars for “communicating with hostile governments (Azerbaijan).”
14. Sattar Sheikh, Pakistani citizen, Ph.D. art student, is sentenced to seven years behind bars for “communicating with hostile governments (Pakistan).”
15. Ali Jokar, Master of Agricultural Engineering from Moscow, is sentenced to 10 years behind bars for “communicating with hostile governments.”
16. Babak Al Ebrahim, master’s degree in Economics from the University of Germany, is sentenced to 10 years behind bars for “communicating with hostile governments.”
17. Shahab Azizi, is sentenced to 10 years behind bars for “communicating with hostile governments (Germany).”
18. Manuchehr Mohammadali, is sentenced to 10 years behind bars for “communicating with hostile governments. (France)”
19. Ali Kashefi, professor, is sentenced to 10 years behind bars for “communicating with hostile governments.”
20. Iman Seyed Rafi’, computer engineer, is sentenced to 10 years behind bars for “hacking IRGC’s system.”
21. Bahram Roshani, political analyst, is sentenced to 5 years behind bars for “assembly and collusion.”
22. Saeid Norouzi, is sentenced to seven years behind bars for “revealing IRGC’s corruption.”
23. Mohammad Asna-Ashari, imprisoned on security charges
24. Hamidi Nia, is sentenced to 10 years behind bars for “espionage.”
25. Mohajerani, is sentenced to seven years behind bars for “espionage.”
26. Sadegh Zahedi, imprisoned on espionage charges
27. Mokhtar Salehi, imprisoned on espionage charges
28. Ali Ahjari, imprisoned on espionage charges
