A Queens businessman got hit Thursday with almost five years in prison for shipping metal powders with military uses off to Iran.

Erdal Kuyumcu received the 57-month sentence in Brooklyn Federal Court after pleading guilty last year to his role in the unauthorized export.

Prosecutors said Kuyumcu, the CEO of Woodside-based Global Metallurgy, plotted to get more than 1,000 pounds of the cobalt and nickel powder — which can have military and nuclear applications.

To cover his tracks, prosecutors said Kuyumcu, 45, arranged for the powder to first go to Turkey, and then to Iran.

Afterward, Kuyumcu told the Daily News the sentence was “unfair” and his lawyer, Patrick Mullin, said he and his client would be looking into “those avenues that may be available to him in light of the sentence imposed.”
