Iranian authorities publicly flogged three men for theft on Monday, December 25, 2017, with the State Security Force inflicting lashes on them as hundreds of people watched the punishment ordered by the Revolutionary and Public Court of Dehdasht city, in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, according to the city’s executive director of the Implementation of Verdict Unit.

The state-run ILNA news agency cited Zargham Azizi as saying: The prime suspect was sentenced to 140 lashes and seven years behind bars and two years of internal exile.

The second defendant was sentenced to 100 lashes, two years and half behind bars and one year of internal exile. The third defendant was sentenced to 74 lashes and three years behind bars for complicity in robbery.
