Labor Minister Ali Rabiei wrote an Instagram post addressing Iranian women.
“Yesterday, 80 women’s rights activist were detained in a gathering for International Women’s Day outside the Ministry of Labor and there is still no news on their release,” he wrote on Instagram.
“We have many things to do for women. Female workers’ job security, preventing the abuse of women, low salaries, high labor, and unequal work opportunities are some of the concerns that women have which calls for special attention and coherent policy…of the two million and 880,000 working women, hundreds of thousands are engaged in purely masculine work, and I worry for their future and their lives. We need to be in tune with their lives and work”, the Labor Ministry wrote. (Online Government Mayor’s website
