Machine Sazi Arak (MSA) is a large Iranian manufacturing company that was established in 1967 in an area of 134 hectares in the city of Arak in order to support underlying industries and meet the industrial needs of the country;

Provides manufacturing support to Iran’s nuclear program, affiliated with Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO);

Machine Sazi Arak was involved in the construction of the heavy-water reactor at Arak Heavy Water Complex;

Mashine Sazi Arak Engineering & Construction Co. (MSAEC Co.) is a subsidiary, and owns a training center for applied sciences;

Reportedly owns West Sun Trade GmbH, an import/export business based in Hamburg, Germany that primarily exports to Iran;

Consists of six groups:
-Metallurgy Group: produces equipment for oil, gas, petrochemical, and pipeline industries, industrial rings, and casting products;
-Machining and Assembly Group: produces carbon, alloy, and stainless steel, wellhead equipment, and valves used in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries;
-Steam Boilers Group: produces steam and hot water boilers;
-Bridge and Steel Structures Group: produces wide-span bridges and other steel structures;
-Equipment Fabrication Group: produces pressure vessels, LPG storage tanks, petrochemical distillation towers, and heat exchangers;
-Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Projects Group;

Contracts have included the production of 50 gas tankers for the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a bridge in Al-Sulaymaniyah Province of Iraq, dehumidifier reactors for the South Pars Gas Field, phases 9 and 10, an oil drilling rig for National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), and well-heads for the Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC). Exports to over 20 countries, including Pakistan, Syria, Libya, Yemen, and the UAE;

MSA also has cooperated with Iran’s Farab Co.

As part of the re-imposition of U.S. sanctions on Iran, added on November 5, 2018 to the Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list maintained by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), freezing its assets under U.S. jurisdiction and prohibiting transactions with U.S. parties, pursuant to Executive Order 13599, which targets entities controlled by the Government of Iran and Iranian financial institutions; foreign parties facilitating transactions for the entity or otherwise assisting the entity are subject to U.S. sanctions;
