Tehran’s Chief of Police announced the arrest of a teenager in Tehran for tearing down an image of Qassem Soleimani the now-dead commander of the Quds Force.

Quoted by the state run ISNA news agency Hossein Rahimi said on Wednesday, “A person who insulted the image of Qassem Soleimani a few days ago and kicked a poster of Soleimani on the street was identified and arrested.”

Rahimi noted that this person is under the age of 18 and has been conditionally released on bail.

In a video from the second day of furious protests after Iran admitted the military shot down a Ukrainian plane, a protester can be seen climbing up to the top of the flag before repeatedly kicking the poster of Qassem Soleimani in the face.

Many of the crowd cheer the protester on as they continue to try and take down the flag.
The protester then begins jumping up and down on the flag.

The poster of Qassem Soleimani then eventually falls when the protester drags it to the ground.

An Iranian regime official recently said that insulting Soleimani is blasphemy and insults his personality is tantamount to the crime of spreading propaganda against the state.

The Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor of the central city of Shahreza Hossein Razaz Zadeh said four people were arrested in the city located in the province of Isfahan for “insulting Qasem Soleimani” on social media platforms.

“Publishing content that insults the personality of martyrs is tantamount to the crime of spreading propaganda against the state,” he said.

“In terms of the sanctity of martyrdom, it is considered blasphemy and will end in arrest and detention,” Razaz Zadeh added.

On January 4, the editor in chief of the state-run Khabar Online website was summoned by the Iranian regime’s Judiciary for using “killed” instead of “martyred” to refer to the death of Qasem Soleimani.

Reports indicate that security forces in the western city of Paveh detained a journalist identified as Mozafar Validbeigi for not using the word “martyred” in reference to Soleimani’s death.

Qassem Soleimani is known to lead the killing of thousands of innocent women and children across the Middle East,
