Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami said that Iran has grown so self-sufficient and self-reliant in different fields that it can continue its path of progress without agreement with the world powers.

“Today, we have come to a point that we have really grown needless of the nuclear deal and we have understood that we should prioritize efforts to become needless of sanctions removal rather than staying in need of the removal of embargos,” General Salami said, addressing a gathering of Basij (volunteer) forces in Tehran on Sunday.

He underlined that the Iranian nation has always solved problems, and said, “Our enemies had big dreams and (now) they have forgotten all of them altogether; now they are watchful not to sustain heavier defeats at our hands.”

General Salami warned that the hegemonic enemies are used to enmity with independent countries like Iran even if they stretch their hand for friendship.

His remarks came after Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi announced that the country is at present producing nearly half a kilo of uranium enriched to the 20% purity level, meantime, saying that Tehran’s steps to reduce nuclear deal undertakings after the West’s disloyalties can all be backtracked.

“Based on the latest news I have, they (the Iranian scientists at nuclear installations) are producing 20 grams (of 20% enriched uranium) every hour; meaning that practically, we are producing half a kilo every day,” Salehi said in an interview with the Persian-language Khamenei.ir website released last week.

“We produce and store this 20% (enriched uranium) and if they return to the nuclear deal, we will return to our undertakings too,” he added.

Asked about the recent bill approved by the parliament to adopt strategic measures to remove sanctions against Iran, Salehi said that the AEOI is required to implement it.
