The Foreign Minister of Iran, Mohammed Yavad Zarif, proposed the creation of a regional forum for dialogue during several interviews with attendees to a conference in Doha, Qatar, this Friday highlights his message in social media.
Zarif referred to plans he shared at the XVI Ministerial Meeting of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue and then disseminated on the network of networks.
According to the head of Iranian diplomacy, during the meeting the importance of creating a Regional Dialogue Forum and aligning capacities to contain expanding unilateralism was emphasized.
On the margins of the international meeting, Zarif met with his peers from Turkey, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, India and Kazakhstan, to whom he proposed the establishment of a regional mechanism.
The diplomat defended multilateralism and spoke out against the unilateral policies of the U.S. government.
Established in 2001, the Asian Cooperation Dialogue is made up of 34 countries. Its first meeting was held in Thailand in 2002 and was attended by 18 missions.
