At dawn on May 3, 2017, eight prisoners, including two women were hanged in Gohardasht prison. The two women were transferred to Gohardasht Prison from the prison in Gharechak Varamin. Other victims were transferred to solitary confinement from different wards on April 29. On May 1, another prisoner was hanged in the central prison of Hamedan.

A few days earlier, on April 25, twenty fellow Arab citizens were arrested in the raids of government forces in one of the neighborhoods of Shushtar. Moreover, from April 30 to May 2, 106 people, mostly young girls and boys were arrested in Ahvaz, Abadan and Qom.

The clerical regime on the eve of sham election and in fear of increasing protests and oppressed people’s uprising, has resorted to mass executions and mass arrests of young people.
