Coronavirus fatalities exceed 40,000 in 314 cities while the Iranian regime is still reporting a death toll of less than 7000 to WHO. This is a similar title of the National Council of Resistance of Iran in the past month about the coronavirus in Iran that updates the number each afternoon. In more details, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced on Friday, 8 May, 2020, that the number of victims just in Tehran is 6,690. In other provinces MEK reports the death toll as: Khorasan Razavi 2,935, Mazandaran 2,480, Isfahan 2,470, Khuzestan 2,055, Alborz 1,599, Lorestan 1,030, Central Province 535, and North Khorasan 442.

However, the clerical regime continues to cover up the death toll. Today, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, the regime’s interior minister, said: “At least seven official agencies provide different statistics on the number of hospitalized patients and deaths. It was decided that no other agency publish the figures. Anyone who wants to report the statistics must do so based on the Health Ministry’s statistics. The current reporting causes a lot of misuses impacting both the public and the foreign media.”

Now we can see the effects of such a policy in daily reports about the coronavirus in Iran. In Belgian media, in almost every report we can observe a sentence as the Iranian regime figures have been largely underestimated and inside and outside Iran there are a lot of doubts about them. Still, the media, even those who have journalist inside Iran, cannot truly cultivate the aspects of the epidemic in Iran.

In order to deep into the situation in Iran we need to see each and every quote of regime officials. For instance, last night, Iraj Harirchi, the regime’s Deputy Health Minister was quoted by the state-control news network, saying: “We expected to see a declining trend in some provinces of the country, such as Khuzestan but that has not happened.”

On the other hand, the head of Razi Hospital in Ahvaz told the state-TV in Khuzestan: “As I speak to you, 50 patients are being hospitalized. The situation is becoming critical.” The regime’s television added in its report, “Razi Hospital capacity is already full, and today the number of deaths in the province has increased significantly.” These two paradoxical comments from two media sources in the same system is the point that raises more doubts.

In addition, the Quds Force affiliated news agency, Fars, reported, “Reza Nejati, the spokesman for the National Coronavirus Combat Task Force in Khuzestan warned we might go back to the quarantine condition of last month. It is believed that the authorities in the Province hurried the reopening of some of the businesses, and this was the green light for an increase in the number of infected people in Khuzestan”.

Such comments, raises the question about the regime policy towards the outbreak. Was the regime respecting the health of the society as they claim by performing intelligent social distancing or it is another meaning for herd immunization? While many western countries, due to the complexities to protect the societies from the coronavirus are talking about the continuation of the situation for at least a year ahead.

In another confusing situation, Central Province Governor, Seyed Ali Aghazadeh tweeted, “In the past 24 hours, 21 more were infected in the Province, with 15 in Khondab, where the Health Ministry had declared virus-free. The Health Ministry has been acting on its own in declaring cities virus free and has not sought the opinion of provincial officials. If the trends of infections continue to rise in Khondab, we will take harsher measures.”

Clearly, the province governor is charging the ministry of health for lying about the situation regarding free-virus zones.

Under such a condition that the reports of the ministry of health cannot be approved even by the Iranian regime officials how is it possible to accurately assess the statistics from the Iranian regime.

The Iranian resistance has shown its access to strategical resources inside the country. The organization has a long history of releasing classified documents about Iran nuclear deal and missile program. In one of their last actions they published documents from various urgency centers in Iran about the starting point of the epidemic which shows the virus has spread in the country from beginning of February. The Iranian regime claims it has started at the end of the February. A month of difference means a lot of actions that could be taken such as other countries while the regime decided to do not. Consequently, Iran became the hardest hit country in the middle east.

In its daily statement about the coronavirus spread in Iran NCRI claims that the death toll has passed 40000 until May 8, 2020. Some politicians, journalist and experts in Europe condemn the United States for its maximum pressure policy which made this problem. But, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), said the astounding rise in the coronavirus death toll and the upward trend of the crisis in many provinces are entirely due to the clerical regime’s inhuman policies. She added the only thing the mullahs are concerned about is to preserve their rule.

In fact, Iran is a rich country that can provide sufficient resources either medical or equipment to fight the pandemic. Hasan Rohani, the president of Iran claimed they can export medicines to other country. But large investments on the nuclear and missile projects, amid the coronavirus outbreak, as well as supporting militia forces across the middle east have drained the economy to confront health problems.

In addition to the above mentioned the earthquake in Tehran with 14 million population can bring the society to the edge of explosion. The Iranian regime besides the health crises has a lot to fight even after pandemic which is broad from a destroyed economy to political prisoners, US tensions, and of course the presidential election in less than a year from now.
