Iran’s paralyzed economy in under the control of which security force?

When Hassan Rouhani says there is a security force linked to the economy which force is he referring to?

The Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) is the main entity involved in Iran’s domestic crackdown and the export of terrorism abroad. The IRGC enjoys special concessions with monopole authority in providing funds for its terrorism abroad, and repression inside the country. The IRGC’s policies also prevent the development of Iran’s all-out economy.

The IRGC Trade Foundation is active in all parts of Iran’s economy:

First – Contracting major oil, gas and petrochemical projects, and taking part in profiting from various plans.

Second – Contracting major government projects including dam construction, road construction, bridges, railroads and pier construction. This is associated to the IRGC’s “Khatam al-Anbiya”, being the largest contractor of government projects. This entity controls hundreds of small and large companies.

Khatam al-Anbiya has currently hired around 200,000 people to carry out its projects, 80% of whom are second-hand contractors with second-hand contracts, the Khatam al-Anbiya chief said.
Third – Investing and stocks.

Fourth – In the money market, official and non-official banking.

Fifth – Importing and exporting smuggled and official goods.

Sixth – Transportation of passengers and goods.

Seventh – Communications

Eight – Industrial and agricultural production, including industrial petrochemical products, Bahman auto industry with dozens of car and spare factories.

Another security and repressive organ active in the economy is the IRGC Basij Trade Foundation. This entity includes a large number of holding and financial institutions:

– Mehr Investment Company

a) Lead Mines Holdings & Development

b) Tajali Mehr Company

c) Iran Tractor Manufacturing

d) Parsian Bank

e) IRALCO – Iranian Aluminum Industrial Company

f) Isfahan Mobarake Steel

g) Middle East Tide Water Company

h) Iran Economy Mehr Bank

The phenomenon of smuggling goods, literally destroying Iran’s productions, is mainly carried out by the IRGC through the country’s borders.

Iran’s officials have acknowledged time and again the fact that the IRGC controls dozens of piers and airports, using such facilities to import and export goods without any customs. The truth is Iran’s wealth is controlled by 4% of the population, as acknowledged recently by Tehran Mayor Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, a candidate of the presidential election.

Therefore, the dispute between Rouhani and the IRGC/Khamenei is merely over which party profits more from Iran’s wealth. What is not important is the Iranian people’s dire economic miseries.
