From the moment the Soviet backed Iranian revolutionaries seized power, terror became the official policy of the Iranian government. They have financed terrorist operations throughout the world while terrorizing their own people. The Iranian government is not a government, but a thugocracy who does not represent the vast majority of the Iranian people.
When former President Obama eased off on Iran’s sanctions and gave their government 1.7 billion dollars, it was done without consent of Congress. Much of the cash was used to carry out terrorist activities, since that is what the Iranian government does. It was made with the claim of the deal or a nuclear armed Iran, which was set up by the same person who encouraged former President Clinton of making a deal with North Korea, which did result in a madman becoming a nuclear power.
The Iranian government did what it always had done. They lied about their nuclear progress. You cannot stop a terrorist government by playing nice with them. Terrorists are not motivated by human decency. There is no common ground from which to negotiate. Force of the sanctions never should have been lifted.
There are people who claim former President Trump was a dictator who went beyond the power of the presidency, yet never came close to what former President Obama did. According to the United States Constitution, Congress controls the spending of money, which they never approved. The Obama administration tried to pressure American banks to get the money, which they refused due to serious violations of the law former President Obama willfully ignored.
Banks from other countries were used to get the cash, but it was still American dollars backed by an American president. The United States is in a war against terror. Funding a terrorist government is giving aid and comfort to the enemy during a time of war, which does fall under the strict definition of treason in American law.
Rather than impeach, as Congress should have done, they ignored the action. Among the thousands who were killed following the increase in money were American soldiers and contractors. Former President Obama wanted a win with Iran at any cost and former Secretary of State John Kerry wanted to deliver it regardless of the long-term costs of their direct actions, which was the spreading of increased terrorist activities throughout the world.
One of the claims to justify funding a terrorist state was the same claim used to justify what former President Clinton did with North Korea. The suffering of the people who live in those countries. The suffering was not brought about by sanctions, but from their own governments. The suffering never ended in North Korea, just as it has not ended in Iran. The Iranian government wants to become a nuclear power just as the North Korean government, but only one of the two has reached the point of possessing nuclear weapons.
The sanctions former President Trump placed on Iran was a good start, but never went far enough. He should have called the terrorist regime exactly what it is. A terrorist state who spreads death and destruction throughout the world. He was right to order the attack which left an Iranian terrorist leader who was in Iraq, not Iran, Soleimani dead. There is one less terrorist mastermind in the world as a result of that order.
From a military perspective, what should have happened under the Trump administration was to shore up allies who have suffered devastating attacks and losses by Iran’s proxies while putting the Iranian government on notice through the United Nations. Tell the American people that Congress declared war on terror, which is what the Iranian government amounts to, and put an embargo around the country where nothing could get in or out.
Strategic sites could have been chosen for military strikes to go after the largest financer of terrorists in the world. The majority of the Iranian people have been ready to take back their country for decades, but have been unable to act on their own. Terrorism is a powerful force that spreads fear like a disease.
Severing the Iranian terrorist government from their proxy terrorist fighters, would damage their ability to carry out attacks. Terrorism is not cheap. Weapons, ammunition, vehicles, fuel, training camps, etc. all cost money.
Iran was slowed by the sanctions from developing nuclear weapons by former President Trump, but they never stopped. Unlike the North Korea madman who is content to terrorize his own people, Iran wants to terrorize the world. We are inching closer to the point of no return, but too many want to believe the Iranian thugs ruling over their people can be trusted to stick to their end of an agreement they have already proven will never happen.
The rockets that recently hit Israel was Hamas, which is an Iranian thug backed terrorist organization. The Biden administration views both sides as being equivalent, since President Biden has never had a fondness for Israel. He has always been hostile to Israel as a whole going back to his many years in the Senate. There is no equivalence between Israel and Hamas.
The two-state solution that has been sought since former President Carter has always been a negotiation between Israel and Soviet turned Iranian proxies. Should it ever happen, which President Biden wants as much as former President Trump did, would create an Iranian state within striking distance of every Israeli city, including Jerusalem.
Some truly believe a two-state solution will bring peace, while ignoring the original two-state solution, which brought about the creation of Jordan and never did what was promised. It is a similar view that Chamberlain had when he thought Hitler and Stalin could be trusted, but both proved him wrong when both attacked Poland, which led to decades of suffering throughout much of Europe and the world.
The Iranian thugs cannot be trusted, just like Hitler, Stalin and the North Korea madman could not when deals were made. They have violated every agreement and will continue to violate agreements for as long as they are in control of the Iranian people. They will never stop funding and training terrorists for as long as they have the resources to do so. The Iranian thugs are a global threat who should never be allowed to become a nuclear power.
The Iranian people are ruled over by terrorists, not a governing body who seeks the betterment of their people. Legitimate governments want to live in peace and trade with the world, since trade betters their economies and lifts their people. Illegitimate governments seek to crush anything that lifts their people. The Iranian thugs seek to crush everything that might lead to the people of Iran rising against them.
