Thousands of members of the Iranian diaspora and their supporters gathered in Brussels on Saturday to take part in a large protest against the Iranian Regime and condemn the ruling mullahs for their violation of human rights, instigation of terrorism, and regional warmongering.

The protesters also expressed their support for the Iranian Resistance movement led by Maryam Rajavi, which includes the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and its Resistance Units inside Iran, while they marched on Schuman Place.

Rajavi addressed the protesters via video with the message that the Iranian Regime was in its final days and the mullahs know it, which is why they are so open about the fact that the Regime has never faced a situation like this.

Rajavi explained that the Iranian people desperately want the Regime to fall and welcome the efforts of anyone who “can change the behaviour of the religious fascists and clerical dictators of Iran without trampling on Iranians human rights and their right to determine their destiny”, but she decried the apologists who feign concern for war in order to appease the Regime.

Rajavi said: “The regime’s strategy for survival in the deadly crisis of its last days, is to demonize the MEK and Iranian Resistance as the main threat, and lay the ground for further terrorist acts against them. This rationale leads to the refrain that the devil we know is better and the Iranian nation are better off with this regime and everyone should submit to its rule.”

These terrorist attacks include the attempted bombings of the MEK compound in Albania and the Free Iran rally in France.

Rajavi said that the EU needed to sanction the Regime as a response to the terrorist attacks, as well as put the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and Iran’s Intelligence Ministry (MOIS) on its list of terrorist entities, prosecute, punish, and expel Regime agents, and hold Regime leaders to account for their crimes against the Iranian people.

The Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), Mohammad Mohaddessin, expanded on this when he said: “The only solution is the overthrow of this regime; this is an absolute need for peace and security in the Middle East and across the world. Let me remind the EU that the regime’s time is up. Do not tie your destiny to this regime. Put an end to appeasement. Do not fuel this regime’s terror and war machine.”

Other speakers at the rally included:

– Giulio Terzi, former Foreign Minister of Italy

– Ingrid Betancourt, a presidential hopeful in Columbia

– Prof. Alejo Vidal Quadras, former Vice President of the European Parliament

– Struan Stevenson, coordinator of the Campaign for Iran Change

– Mark Demesmaeker, Member of the European Parliament
