Due to the efforts of the MEK, a torturer of the Iranian regime close to the regime’s president Raisi was put on trial in recent months in Sweden for crimes committed against political prisoners. Furthermore, the final verdict was issued for the three Iranian agents who had intended to bomb the MEK’s grand gathering in Paris in June 2018 by the Appeal Court in Belgium.

On the other hand, the uprising of the Iranian people and the activities of the MEK resistance units inside Iran have escalated throughout the country aiming at toppling the regime. Therefore, fearing the ultimate downfall, the regime is trying hard to inflict a hard blow against the MEK, since it regards the MEK as its sole existential threat.

In this regard, the Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) has recently called to Iran three of its local agents from Albania, Gjergji Thanasi, Dashamir Mersuli and Vladimir Veis for briefing and preparing them for further conspiracies in Albania.

Local agents instructed in Iran

Since June 9, 2022, the MOIS called to Iran three of its local agents from Albania, Gjergji Thanasi, Dashamir Mersuli and Vladimir Veis. They all receive monthly salaries from the MOIS.

Vladimir Veis has been called to Iran in particular because he is a retired police officer and he was debriefed about the Albanian police functions.

Their MOIS supervisor in Iran was Ebrahim Khodabandeh. The Iranian regime has introduced Khodabandeh as CEO of Nejat Society, a front organization and a branch of the MOIS. A report prepared by the Library of the US Congress for the Pentagon reveals that Ebrahim Khodabandeh is an agent of the MOIS. Ebrahim Khodabandeh took the Albanian local agents for a tour in the provinces of Isfahan, Shiraz, Mashhad and Tehran. In every province, they held a joint session with the MOIS and the Nejat Society branch there. The MOIS returned the local agents back to Albania on June 25, 2022. Mersuli immediately went to Hassan Heyrani, the MOIS chief agent in Tirana, to report the instructions made by the MOIS.

The website of the Nejat Society on Monday June 27 published a report about the trip of the agents to Iran and an invitation letter by the Nejat Society as follows:

ASILA Authorities from Albania with Nejat Society Families in Tehran

“On the invitation of CEO of the Nejat Society Iran and on behalf of the families of MEK members in Albania, the Albanian authorities of the Association for the Support of the Iranians Living in Albania (ASILA), that is Mrs Dashamir Mersuli, Gjergji Thanasi and Vladimir Veisi arrived in Tehran on Thursday June 9, 2022 and directly headed for Isfahan”.

The letter was sent by the Nejat Society to Gjergji Thanasi and invited him to Iran. The letter was published by the Nejat website in order to provide a cover and justification for the visit of the MOIS’s local agents to Iran. The Nejat Society as a branch of the MOIS is involved in threatening and suppressing the families of MEK members in Albania.

The MOIS takes advantage of Dashamir Mersuli as an asset and local cover for its activities in Albania. For example, the MOIS has established and registered ASILA in his name and he rented the building of the MOIS agents. Based on his experience in various government institutes, Mersuli represent the MOIS agents in the police station in Laprak to extend their residence permits. Vladimir Veis who is a retired police officer, has been debriefed by the MOIS in Iran in order to have the information of the Albanian police function in controlling the borders.
