The Kuwaiti authorities announced on Saturday that they have arrested another member of a “terror cell” with links to the Iranian regime and Hezbollah.

According to the Kuwaiti Interior Ministry, security forces apprehended Abdul Mohsen Jamal Husain Al Shatti on Saturday evening. He had been convicted in absentia and sentenced to 10 years in prison.

The Kuwaiti security forces announced in the fall of 2015 that 20 tons of weapons and explosives have been found on a farm near Al-Abdali located in Iraq. In this case, 25 Kuwaiti and Iranians were arrested and tried for sabotage, espionage, and ties with Iran and Hezbollah.

Earlier in August, the Kuwaiti interior ministry announced it had arrested 12 members of “Abdali” cell after weeks of manhunt.

The ministry said those have been captured in different areas across Kuwait. They had been on the run since their sentencing last month, while two other convicted Kuwaitis remained at large and an Iranian, Abdulreza Haidar Dahqani, who has been sentenced to death in absentia.
