Three Baluchi prisoners were hanged on Monday, September 3, 2018, at Zahedan Prison. The victims, charged with Moharebeh (enmity against God) are identified as Mohammad Shahbakhsh, 21, Esmaeil Shahbakhsh, 23, and Hayatollah Noutzehi, 24. They had been transferred to solitary confinement on September 1.
After the executions, prison authorities refused to hand over the dead bodies to their families and forced them to pay for the nooses used to hang their loved ones. The families haven’t been able to receive the bodies yet.
The prisoners were charged with participating in an armed conflict with the state security force on July 7, 2015, during which an agent was murdered. They had denied committing the murder.
