The United States has warned the Iraqi government that it would be responsible for any move that hurts US Marine Forces stationed in the country.

The US warning came in the wake of planned move by the Iran-backed Shiite militias to attack the Marine Forces.

US Ambassador to Iraq Douglas A. Silliman delivered the message from the US Administration to Baghdad, according to reliable Iraqi sources.

The US note has accused that Hadi Al-Ameri, head of the Al-Fath political bloc, and the Popular Mobilization Forces (Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi) are planning to launch an attack on the Marine Forces at the US military camps located in Iraq. According to the US report, Qasem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force, a division of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, is mainly behind the plot to attack the US forces.

Washington also informed the Iraqi government that the Iranian-backed Iraqi Shiite militias and groups will be put on the black list to impose sanctions against them.

Meanwhile, Al-Fath leader unleashed a scathing attack on the US.

Intisar Al-Mousavi, a deputy of pro-Iranian alliance, said that one of the priorities of the alliance in future will be to drive the Iraqi forces out of the country.

She slammed the US policy against the resistance forces. “The resistance forces have scored political and ideological victories against the US,” she said, adding that the US policy of continuing sanctions will be futile ‘as we are determined to further intensify the resistance.”
