The Resistance movement in Iran is maintaining momentum in Iran as discontent continues. The Iranian regime is the cause of anger for so many Iranians that are sick of seeing corruption, mismanagement, the threat of war, economic turmoil, social crisis after social crisis and uncertainty.

The young people in Iran, in particular, are taking to the streets in massive protests and anti-government demonstrations and are bravely taking the future into their own hands. They are voicing their demands for regime change and want rid of the mullahs that have done nothing but complicate life for them.

From 3rd until 5th October, young Iranians gathered in numerous cities across the country, including in Shiraz, Semnan, Fassa, Mashhad, Sabzevar, Rezvanshahr, Nowshahr, Kouhdasht, and Karaj. They torched large posters of the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and proudly displayed pictures of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) – the main opposition to the Iranian regime.

The young people were heard chanting slogans such as “down with Khamenei, hail to Rajavi”, “rise up and bring down the religious dictatorship” and “the mullahs must go”.

At the same time, residents of Lordegan took to the streets in protest against the regime too. They were gathering in support of the hundreds of people from the village of Chenar Mahmoudi in the province of Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari who have been infected with the HIV virus because of the authorities’ neglect.

Hundreds of people were being tested for diabetes, and the needles used by the health officials were not sterile.

Instead of admitting that a mistake was made, or at least putting measures in place to address the situation, the regime has done nothing but shirk responsibility. It has blamed local health authorities and it has even tried to blame the local people. Officials had said that there are so many people with HIV because of rampant drug use and promiscuity. Officials have also tried to deny the scale of the problem, saying that there have only been a few cases of HIV detected.

This has angered the public and people all over Iran have voiced their disgust at the regime.

At the protests in Lordegan, live rounds were fired by suppressive forces and there have been reports of a death due to the brutality of the agents that the regime has sent in to disperse the crowd. However, the people have resisted the suppression and they continued to protest. Some angry protesters set fire to several buildings including the representative office of the Supreme Leader.

Mrs. Rajavi has addressed the people of Iran, applauding them for their bravery and encouraging them to show the regime that they cannot be silenced. She said: “This corrupt and criminal regime has squandered Iran’s national wealth by pursuing nuclear and missile projects and engaging in foreign warmongering, which has destroyed all aspects of life for the people of Iran, including health and well-being.”
