General Abbas Nilforushan told Tasnim news website affiliated with the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) that “there is no American today who is not ashamed of the way US forces escaped from Afghanistan after occupying the country for 20 years.”. Nilforushan emphasized that geopolitical conditions in the region are changing in favor of the Islamic Republic and its allies, which will lead to a complete pullout of the United States from its current bases. He also claimed that Israel is on the verge of collapse under the pressure of Iran and its allies;

Abbas Nilforushan (Nilforushan), the Deputy Commander for Operations of the IRGC, is responsible for the IRGC’s Operations Command, one of the security organizations directly in charge of protest suppression, which has played a critical role in arresting protest leaders during previous protests. Nilforushan is an experienced IRGC commander who also served as a military adviser in the Syrian Civil War.

Nilforushan is being designated pursuant to E.O. 13553 for having acted or purported to act for or on behalf of, directly or indirectly, the IRGC.
