Mr. Hashim Khastar, representative of the Iranian teachers, in an exclusive interview on July 31, 2017, examined the re-arrest of Isamil Abdi, Secretary of Teachers’ Association of Iran, the spread of organized corruption in the Iranian regime and its devastating effects on society, and recent comments by senior regime officials on 1988 massacre of political prisoners in Iran.

“Mr. Ismail Abdi was kidnapped from his home while he was on a medical leave, and they did not even allow him to take his medications out of his house. Unfortunately, the rulers of Iran, in general, have forgotten the law and deal with every issue in a bullying manner,” Mr. Khastar said.

The representative of the Iranian teachers went on to say that “the ruling system in Iran has nothing to do with Islam and that the system is the result of corruption, murder, looting and prostitution.” He said: “After the government coup in June 1980 and the repression of all parties and liberals, many intellectuals and activists argued that if the regime continues such practices, it regime will certainly become corrupt and the people will rise up against them, and we are witnessing this today.”

Mr. Khastar said: “The government did not have any legitimacy and continued only with the use of force.” He emphasized that “when the innocent children of people were executed in the summer of 1988, they did not expect to hear people protest and that one day the people rise up, and today is that day.”

Representative of Iranian teachers, in another part of this interview, denounced the words of Ahmad Khatami (member of the board of directors of the regime’s Assembly of Experts) who said the perpetrators of the 1988 executions should be awarded. Mr. Khastar said: “I have repeatedly said that the massacre of innocent prisoners in 1988 is a crime against humanity, a crime that will not be forgotten until human beings are on earth.”

Referring to the recent interview of the regime’s former Intelligence Minister, Ali Fallahian, who said the membership in the Mojahedin Khalq Organization (PMOI or MEK) was a sufficient reason for the execution of a person, Hashem Khastar said: “I tell Fallahian that this behaviour of the regime with the prisoners and their widespread massacre in 1988 was far worse than Yazid’s behaviour, because Yazid kept the women in Karbala captive and respected them, but you according to the revelation of Ayatollah Hossein-Ali Montazeri (former Khomeini’s heir) did not have mercy even on pregnant women, and executed them all. This shows that you accept neither Islam nor humanity!”

The representative of Iranian teachers added: “In view of the prevailing conditions of society, this country is blowing up and is heading towards a revolution, because all the roads are closed to people, and people are genuinely engaged in shackling the government. We see that groups of officials are separating themselves from the system every day and joining the queue of people.”

“It is necessary to note that during the recent presidential election, advertising costs of Ebrahim Raisi, whose hands stained with the blood of thousands of innocent youth, were collected from Astan Quds Razavi (The holy shrine of Imam Reza in Mashhad), which is supposed to be spent on poor people and improvement of their situation, and the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and Basij forces played a significant role in the propaganda for Raisi. Unfortunately, with such a crime (a perpetrator of the 1988 massacre) in his report, he claims to become the president while our elites are either in diaspora or in the corners of prisons, and this represents this country’s horrible state,” he said.
