“The Iranian regime is stepping up censorship of, and restrictions on,social media sites and applications in a desperate attempt to confront growing dissatisfaction and rage among the younger generation,” said Shahin Gobadi, a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran.

“As we are getting closer to the sham elections on May 19, it hasbecome abundantly clear that the expection of moderation or reform during Hassan Rouhani’s tenure has been nothing but a mirage. The regime’s factions are in total unanimity as it pertains to suppression at home, export of terrorism, Islamic extremism, and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction,” Gobadi added.
