A group of retired Iranian teachers gathered on Tuesday in Tehran outside the Ministry of Education in protest to their economic woes.

Pensioners who were participating in the protest were holding banners and placards which read, ” The result of 30 years of hard working should be paid as quickly as possible, and we cannot accept this cunctation.”

Retired employees have in the past year held a number of protest rallies since none of their demands were met.

Of course in Iran, all sectors of the society including workers, who sometimes don’t receive their salaries for months, suffer from low wages.

According to ISNA state-run News Agency, “article 41 of the Iranian Labor Law states that the minimum wage shall be sufficient to meet the living expenses of a family and should take into account the inflation rate announced by the Central Bank.”
