A German-Iranian businessman convicted and sentenced to 18 months probation by the Higher Regional Court of Hamburg in 2013 for violating Germany’s Foreign Trade Act and War Weapons Control Act in connection with the export of valves to Iran. Acted as part of a procurement network for Iran’s nuclear program, which was led by Hossein Tanideh and also included Gholamali Kazemi, Kianzad Kazemi, and Rudolf Mayer. The network procured 1,163 valves from Germany and India and sent them, in 2010 and 2011, via Turkey, to Iran’s Modern Industries Technique Company (MITEC), which was responsible for the design and construction of, and procurement for, the IR-40 heavy water reactor at Arak;
Served as middleman for the initial contact between Mayer and the Kazemis;
