Admitted shipping hi-tech gyrocompass navigation equipment, adaptable for missile guidance systems and controlled by the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR), to the Iranian Ministry of Defense; according to HM Revenue & Customs, after inquiring about an export license to Azerbaijan for eleven gyrocompass devices, worth approximately £650,000, Salashoor diverted the export to Malta, with plans to later ship to the Iranian Ministry of Defense, when that export was blocked, shipped two of the devices to a customer in Norway, where they were exported to Iran;

On March 14, 2008, jailed for 18 months and ordered to relinquish £432,970 subject to a confiscation order, after pleading guilty to four counts of being “knowingly concerned in the exportation of goods contrary to [the UK’s] Customs and Excise Management Act 1979,” one count of “perverting the course of public justice,” and three counts relating to other illegal exports;
