African automaker Mureza Auto Co announced last month a joint venture with Iranian auto manufacturer SAIPA Group backed by funders in the United Arab Emirates. The venture will produce a mid-sized hatchback, called the Mureza Prim8, by rebadging the SAIPA Quick, which was made on the SAIPA-developed X200 platform and released in Iran in 2017. The SAIPA Quick is exported to India, according to African media;

Owner of Saipa Corp. is The Industrial Development & Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO)
with 17.3% shares. IDRO is added to the Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list maintained by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control on 11/5/2018 for being owned or controlled by the Iranian regime. According to reports, terrorist organizaiton – IRGC owns 4% of SAIPA corporation;
