Saeed Mohammad, secretary of Iran’s Supreme Council of Free Zones, says UAE earns billions of dollars annually from Iranian fuel smuggling.

“We know that the UAE generates more than $20 billion in revenue annually from bunkering, and in fact services are provided to various ships and vessels from the region to the port of Fujairah, and unfortunately we have to say that a large part of it,” he said.

The fuel used by the UAE for banking is smuggled from Iran to Fujairah.

Adviser to the President of Iran, emphasizing that we should prevent the movement of ships to the UAE for refueling, said: “We are not only pursuing the sale of fuel to the ships to Qeshm, but also the executive team of these ships and their crews are definitely in Qeshm needs accommodation and rest, as well as flights to replace the crew and the executive team, all of which will bring significant foreign exchange earnings to the people, especially the natives of the region. Eventually, it will lead to economic mobilization and rotation of the country.

He continued: to implement the preparations for this work, it is planned that the banking on Qeshm Island will be presented in an acceptable level soon.
