The Chief Justice Sadegh Larijani said that they would deal decisively with troublemakers, vandelizers and those linked with foreign countries during the recent incidents (protests), the state run ILNA news agency reported on January 22, 2018.

“We will not allow some people or groups to lower the price to be paid for the riots,” Sadegh Larijani said.

“Today, prison organizations are facing basic problems in issues such as nutrition, health and physical space. Not enough attention has been paid to these issues,” he added.

Meanwhile Tehran security forces have been going all out in nightly security plan in fear of protests. The state-run Tasnim news agency reported on January 22, 2018 that the Capital’s Chief of Police, Hussein Rahimi, announced the launch of the Nightly Security Plan in Tehran saying that the plan had been launched with the cooperation of all combat and operational units in the Greater Tehran District and that it would continue until the next morning.

“The Security Police has been tasked with missions such as rounding up thugs and troublemakers and dealing with the hangouts of thugs, including a number of coffee shops,” he added.
