Deputy IRGC Commander-in-Chief for Coordination General Mohammad-Reza Naghdi discussed the leadership of President Trump in a February 11, 2025 address aired on SNN.ir (Iran). He stated that Trump’s leadership is “the greatest tragedy” of the United States and that his presidency represents ‘divine retribution’ for America’s crimes and injustices. Naghdi added that in Iran, people choose their leader based on wisdom and piety, whereas, in a liberal democracy like the United States, they chose the weakest, most corrupt, and foolish man as their leader.
Naghdi: “Now, the United States has political conflicts with Canada, Mexico, and Denmark. Is there any worse disgrace? The greatest calamity that has befallen the United States is that God has imposed such a leader upon it. No one can destroy America like he can. No one can destroy America better than this gentleman. This is the disaster that has been imposed upon them. This is divine retribution for their crimes and injustices.
