The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) Quds Force, Major General Qassem Soleimani, said this week that Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad’s recent visit to Tehran was for the resistance axis’s “victory celebration”.
“Bashar al-Assad’s visit to Tehran and his meeting with Supreme Leader has been reviewed as a celebration of victory,” General Soleimani said, addressing a forum in the city of Qom on Wednesday night, as quoted by the Fars News Agency.
Furthermore, General Soleimani touched on Iran’s current relationship with Iraq, which he said was paving the way for increased trade between the two nations.
“Now the most secure borders of our country is the common borders with Iraq and our friends are ruling the country and our country’s exports to Iraq have reached $12bln,” he added.
