Excerpt from Çiğdem Toker’s column
While CHP leader Kılıçdaroğlu showed receipts that millions of dollars were sent to a £1-capital company established on the Isle of Man, some names also commemorated. Sıtkı Ayan , Kasım Öztaş were two of the names Kılıçdaroğlu mentioned on the podium.
On this occasion, the activities of Ayan, who founded Bellway Limited Company, in Turkey came to the fore; Bumerz Denizcilik also created one of the topics of discussion. CHP Group Deputy Chairman Özgür Özel stated that the initials of the company were taken from the names of Burak Erdoğan , Mustafa Erdoğan and Ziya İlgen .
The name Bumerz is not a new name in terms of public opinion in Turkey.
In another dimension, the issue came to the fore in June 2017, on the website BlackSea, signed by British journalist Craig Shaw , due to Malta documents, and Fatih Polat , Editor-in-Chief of Evrensel Newspaper, included this article in his article, which mentioned the existence of a total of three companies established in the Isle of Man, together with Bellwayy. . One of the companies featured in this article, which led to a criminal investigation against Fatih Polat, was Bumerz Limited.
Now let’s take a look at the news published in the Vatan newspaper (Tebernüş Kireççi) on December 25, 2008, nine years ago :
“ MB Maritime Transport Limited Company, 50 percent of which is owned by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s eldest son, Ahmet Burak Erdogan, bought its first ship. Mert Çetinkaya, Burak Erdogan’s partner in MB . Çetinkaya is the son of a 50-year-old sailor family.
After Prime Minister Erdogan and his family transferred their shares in Istanbul, the regional dealers of Ülker Company, in Güvenlik Gıda and İhsan Gıda , it was known that the Erdoğanlar’s eldest son, Burak Erdoğan, was in search of starting a new business .
These searches yielded results in April 2006 . Three members of the Erdogan Family bought the Turkuaz Denizcilik company on April 10, 2006 and changed its name to Bumerz Denizcilik . Bumerz’s board of directors consisted of the following names: Ahmet Burak Erdogan, Mustafa Erdogan (Tayyip Erdogan’s brother), Ziya Ilgen (Tayyip Erdogan’s sister, Vesile Ilgen’s wife) Ziya Ilgen, before the Erdogan Family’s share transfer, he served as Safety Food and He served on the board of directors of İhsan Gıda .”
Looking back from today, it is understood that there is a commercial and legal relationship between Bumerz Limited in the Isle of Man and Bumerz Denizcilik company in Turkey. When you look at the Trade Registry records, this kinship seems clearer.
Let’s note a few of the decisions that stand out in the registry records:
– May 29, 2015: The company management, consisting of Kasım Öztaş, Murat Teke and Erol Koç , convenes and takes a retrospective decision.
As of 30 December 2014, Bumerz Denizcilik has a single shareholder A.Ş. decides to continue its activities . The sole shareholder is determined as Bahaddin Ayan.
AT THE SAME ADDRESS
Another interesting decision was taken shortly after this date. Bumerz Denizcilik, which changed its address on March 31, 2015, is moving the company to an address in Sarıyer, when necessary. Come to see that, on the same page of the registry gazette of the same date, there are two other resolutions signed by Sıtkı Ayan on behalf of the board of directors. Address change of Gent Elektrik and Som Overseas Petroleum Energy companies. These companies are also moving to the same address in Sarıyer, where Bumerz Shipping moved.
According to open sources, Bumerz Limited, Gent Elektrik and Som Petrol are currently operating at the same address.
