Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has appointed Hossein Salami as commander-in-chief of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. Salami has previously vowed to destroy America, Israel, and Saudi Arabia. Below are some of his most memorable quotes.
– When they were captured by IRGC Navy troops in Iran’s waters in the Persian Gulf, Hossein Salami said: “The marines were crying when they were being captured,” according to Fars News. “The Americans humbly admitted our might and power.”
– “We are planning to break America, Israel, and their partners and allies. Our ground forces should cleanse the planet from the filth of their existence,” Salami said during a speech aired on Iranian TV in February.
