An explosive device was detonated in the path of a US military caravan in the western province of Al-Anbar, Iraq, causing no casualties, the Saberin News website reported.

So far no group or individuals have claimed responsibility for this attack.

In recent months, this kind of action in Iraq have hit caravans laden with logistics support from the countries of the Pentagon-led international coalition.

Popular perception considers foreign military forces, especially those from the United States, as invaders and occupiers.

The sentiment of rejection gained strength after the assassination of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani and the deputy commander of the Popular Mobilization Units, Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, by US aviation in January 2020 in Baghdad, in frank violation of Iraqi sovereignty.
