The 2018 report by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution of Germany (Bundesmat fur Verfassungsschutz, BfV), which was released on June 27, 2019 by the Federal Minister of the Interior, Horst Seehofer and Thomas Haldenwang, head of the organization, examines the activities of the intelligence services of the Iranian regime in Germany.

Referring to the role of the Iranian regime’s secret service in the “bombing plot against the annual gathering of the PMOI in June 2018 in Villepinte near Paris,” the report warns against intensifying the plots against the Iranian opposition.

The BfV annual report states: “The central task of the Iranian intelligence services is to spy against opposition movements and confront these movements. In this regard, evidences of state-sponsored terrorism in Europe, which originates in Iran, have intensified during 2018.”
The report, based on observations from the BfV, states: “The main source of intelligence activities in Germany is the Ministry of Intelligence of the Islamic Republic (VAJA or MOIS). MOIS collects its information through intelligence operations in conjunction with the ministry’s representatives in the field or with the ministry’s headquarters in Tehran.

These (operations) are specifically directed by the headquarters of the Ministry of Intelligence. One of the methods of the Ministry of Intelligence is to interrogate those who are traveling to Iran for family or professional reasons. There is no escape from access by the Ministry of Intelligence, and this provides an ideal opportunity for interrogation.”

The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution report reveals that the Iranian regime’s embassy serves the Ministry of Intelligence and writes: “In Germany, the headquarters of the Ministry of Intelligence at the Iranian embassy in Berlin plays an important role in intelligence operations. In addition to independent intelligence operations, this agency also supports activities undertaken by the Ministry of Intelligence. In addition to the Ministry of Intelligence, the Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force, which engages in intelligence operations, is active in Germany. ”

The report, referring to the arrest of a terrorist diplomat of the Iranian regime on German soil, states: “On July 1, 2018, a diplomat at the Iranian embassy in Vienna (accredited) was arrested in Germany following a European arrest warrant issued by the Belgian judiciary. He is alleged to have organized an attack with explosives on the annual gathering of the PMOI near Paris on June 30, 2018, as an official collaborator of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence.

The diplomat was said to have used an Iranian born couple as spy and bombing agent to carry out the attack. The individual was deported to Belgium in October 2018. The case filed against him in Germany by the Federal Prosecutor General is under way. Investigation in Germany and Belgium continues.”

“The Iranian intelligence apparatus is one of the main instruments of political leadership in Iran to consolidate its rule,” the report says, recognizing the increased potential risks for the opposition. “Therefore, the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence will continue to monitor the opposition. The threat that threatens the Iranian opposition in Germany has been exacerbated. Besides monitoring the opposition in Germany, several revealed cases indicate that the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence has planned some terror attempts against the opposition in Europe. ”
The report also notes that on Iranian missile program in 2018, there has been an increasing effort to obtain the components that can be used to build nuclear weapons.

The Iranian Resistance, emphasizing on the fact that the report of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) clearly indicates the policy of exporting terrorism and espionage by the clerical regime, once again calls for the terrorist designation of the Ministry of Intelligence, the closure of embassies, and the prosecution and expelling of the clerical regime agents and mercenaries from European soil, especially Germany.
