The Saudi-led Arab Coalition accused the Iranian Revolutionary Guard of using international smuggling groups to supply weapons to the armed militias, most notably in Yemen.
In an interview with Al-Arabiya TV, the Arab Coalition spokesperson, Turki Al-Maliki, said that “Iranian weapons spread destruction and threaten the security of the region,” as he denounced the “Houthi militias that target civilians in Saudi Arabia.”
Al-Maliki considered that the Ansarallah Movement’s threats extend to regional and international security, and that “Iran is the first starting point for smuggling weapons to Houthi militias.”
On this, Maliki said that “Iran used a network of organized crime to smuggle 16 weapons shipments to the Houthi militia,” while pointing out that “we are cooperating with friendly and brotherly countries in exchanging information about terrorist groups.”
Al-Maliki said that the Ansarallah Movement launched 118 ballistic missiles towards Saudi Arabia, claiming that they were all intercepted by their air defenses.
The Saudi-led Arab coalition in Yemen announced on Wednesday, a new military operation against the Ansarallah forces.
Al-Maliki stressed that “the operation aims to neutralize and destroy the specific capabilities” of the Ansarallah forces.
