Syrian President Bashar al-Assad met with Major General Mohammad Bagheri, the Chief of Staff for the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus on Thursday.
According to reports, both Bagheri and Assad discussed the latest developments in Syria and underlined the need for foreign troops to withdraw from Syrian territory.
Reports suggest that the Syrian President was satisfied with the results of work between Iranian and Syrian officials, which led to the signing of a memorandum on the strengthening of military technical cooperation Wednesday that was signed both by Bagheri and Syrian Minister of Defence Ali Abdullah Ayyoub.
