The Iranian regime, under the leadership of Ali Khamenei, executed three prisoners on August 23. The victims, identified as Behrouz Rahmani Rad, Keyumars Rezai, and Rahmat Ebrahimi, were hanged in Qezelhesar Prison.
Adding to this grim tally, on Tuesday, August 22, Shouresh Morovatti, a Kurdish compatriot who had successfully escaped during a prison uprising in the central Saqqez prison in March 2020, was tragically hanged in Sanandaj Central Prison.
On Monday, August 21, in addition to the 10 prisoners mentioned in the statement of August 21, another prisoner named Amir Rahimi was executed in Kerman, and yet another prisoner was subjected to the gallows in Zahedan.
This brings the total count to 12 prisoners executed by the regime’s judiciary on a single Monday, and a distressing 70 prisoners executed at the hands of the regime’s executioners within the past 30 days, 26 of whom were Baluch compatriots.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), stated that these brutal executions, especially targeting Baluch compatriots, are intended to instill an atmosphere of terror and horror. The regime seeks to prevent people from erupting in anger and engaging in uprisings against its tyranny. The regime is exacting revenge on the rebellious Baluch youth while vainly trying to suppress their uprising.
Mrs. Rajavi called upon the United Nations, the European Union, and member states to put an end to their silence and inaction in the face of the regime with the highest record of torture and executions in the 21st century. She urged immediate action to halt the killing machine of this regime and emphasized that the Iranian people are paying the price for appeasement and negotiation with the bloodshed orchestrated by the ruling clerics.
