Iranian security forces beat a 19 year old man to death because he was not carrying his motorcycle license. The young man identified as Ali Khodaie used his motorcycle to carry passengers as a way to make ends meet in the northwestern city of Urmia.
According to a source close to the Khodaie family who spoke to the Iran Human Rights Activists group, Ali Khodaie was brutally kicked in the head by an agent on September 30.
“He passed away (on October 7) after seven days in coma,” the source added.
He was beaten by an agent identified as F. Mostafazadeh.
Ali Khodaie’s funeral was held yesterday. The report said that the security agent had not been arrested.

According to a tweet by one of his relatives, the young man had lost his parents in a car accident several years ago and was his sister’s only guardian.
The Iranian regime’s security forces beat, shoot and kill Iranians with impunity.
Reports from human rights groups indicate that at least three other people have been killed by security forces in the past weeks.
On October 8, a man identified as Azad Qorbani Nejad was shot and killed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) stationed in the border area of Sardasht in the northwestern province of Western Azarbaijan.
According the Kurdistan Center for Democracy and Human Rights, the man who was a porter and carried goods on his back across the border was shot at close range without prior warning.
A man accompanying him was also seriously wounded.
Another porter was killed by IRGC forces stationed on the border in Western Azarbaijan province on October 1.
He was identified as Aziz Raisi from a village in Urmia.
Two other porters were shot and seriously wounded by the IRGC in the same area.
Working as a border porter or “kolbar” has turned into a prominent occupation for many in Iran’s western cities bordering Iraq and Turkey.
In Kurdistan province, where unemployment rates have soared as high as 40% among the youth, many young people have turned to this occupation.
On September 29, security forces opened fire on a car carrying fuel and killed 18 year old Meisam Nodrat Zehi. The incident occurred in Saravan, in the impoverished southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.
According to a source, security forces shot a barrage of bullets at the young man after the car caught fire to prevent him from leaving the automobile.
An annual report by a human rights groups said that at least 300 Iranian citizens were directly or indirectly killed or wounded by Iran’s state security forces in 2018.
According to the report, at least 142 reports were published about these incidents which indicate the widespread use of lethal force by Iran’s security forces without due process, which amounts to arbitrary killings.
