On Monday, Japanese authorities denied the news of Japan’s $18 billion line of credit to Tehran. The $18.42 billion loan offer that was said to have been offered by Japan and France, was an inducement and on condition of Tehran’s full compliance with the guidelines of the JCPOA.

On Monday, Yoshihide Suga, the Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan announced: “The news of a loan offer to Iran is untrue.”

On Sunday, October 20th, Japanese newspaper The Mainichi Shimbun reported that a two trillion yen loan proposal from Japan and France for compliance with the nuclear agreement had been on offer to the Khomeinist regime. The article claimed that the Japanese government had agreed with the French initiative that had been presented by French President Emanuel Macron, to provide $15 billion in aid to Iran, after Tehran demanded to raise borrowing to offset the impact of sanctions to at least $ 18.42 billion.

The newspaper claimed that Japanese officials were hoping that this would eliminate Tehran’s discontent with Tokyo’s plans to send two Japanese navy ships to accompany the patrol vessels.

Remarkably, Iran Daily, an Islamic State-run media outlet published a report, designating U.S.-based Bloomberg news as the source. Bloomberg however has not published any such report.
