According to an October 12th report, the Swedish daily Aftonbladet, in March of this year, the Swedish security police (SIPU) arrested a 46-year-old Iranian man who was gathering intelligence on Iranian opposition figures for the Islamic regime in Europe. Reports indicate that he is a part of a sleeper cell group from Tehran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) based in Sweden.
Evidence shows that he and a group of other agents were and are planning to assassinate Iranian activists and opposition members. Based on latest reports gathered, the man was planning on assassinating Iranian figures in Europe on behalf of the Islamic regime. A report from the Swedish tax office shows that the man came from Iran to Sweden 10 years ago and became a Swedish citizen a few years later. He was posing as a journalist and employed by a Swedish-based Arabic language news website.
In announcing the news of his arrest, VPRO television in Holland also reported that the same man was involved in the assassinations of Ahmad Mola Nisi and Ali Motamed (alias of Mohammed Reza Samadi-Kolahi). It is thus, apparent, that the Islamic regime has resumed its wave of serial killings targeting its opponents in Europe.
Hans-Jörgen Hanström, the prosecutor in charge of the investigation of the case, did not elaborate on the eventual link between the man and assassination attempts in the Netherlands carried out by the operatives hired by Tehran’s regime. The case file amounts to 1,700 pages with an attachment containing telephone conversations recorded in 2018 as well as WhatsApp messages of a considerable volume. The suspected 46-year-old man Hanna Lindblom, the suspect’s lawyer, has maintained her silence on the case and continues to deny all charges.
Another man, Assadollah Assadi, was a European station chief for the MOIS. He was extradited to Belgium by Germany to face charges and tried for masterminding the assassination plots.
