Iranian Air Defense units test-fired two domestically produced missile systems during an exercise on Monday, Tasnim news agency reported.

One of the missile systems was homegrown “Talash”, or “Endeavor”, which can hit medium and high-altitude targets.

Talash has been equipped with a locally-manufactured fire control radar, dubbed “Ofoq”, or “Horizon”.

It is capable of intercepting targets within a range of 150 km and in high altitudes.

In another operation during the war game, “Khordad 3rd” air defense missile system was also tested to shoot down dummy hostile aircraft over the sky of the drill zone.

“Khordad 3rd” enjoys state-of-the-art technologies suitable for electronic warfare.

It can intercept four targets and fire eight missiles simultaneously within a range of 50 km.

On Monday, the Iranian Army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched a joint air defense military exercise.

The war game, code-named “Velayat”, is being held in an area of around half a million square km in northern, central and western Iran.
