Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir said Sunday Saudi Arabia would not remain silent against “Iranian regime’s blatant aggression,” and would defend itself to guarantee safety and security of its people.

Al-Jubeir, addressing an urgent Arab Foreign Ministers’ meeting over Iranian regime’s interference in Arab affairs, urged Arab countries to address “Iran’s hostile policies.” Al-Jubeir, who thanked the Arab countries for accepting Saudi Arabia’s request for this urgent meeting, said the Iranian regime was meddling in affairs of the Arab countries to undermine their security and stability, as well as inciting sectarian sedition.

He said the missiles fired by the Houthis in Yemen against the Saudi capital, Riyadh, was part of Iran’s repeated assault against Saudi Arabia.

Iran’s aggression are carried out through its proxies against the Arab countries, noted Al-Jubeir.

Iran’s violation of international laws, sovereignties of countries, planting terrorist cells, smuggling of weapons, attacking diplomatic missions, and creating proxies like Houthis and Hezbollah are relentless, said the top diplomat.

Bahrain Foreign Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Khalifa, for his part, urged Lebanon to live up to its responsibility and stop Hezbollah’s “terrorist acts and its attacks in … Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Bahrain.

“Lebanon is responsible for the practices of Hezbollah which is a partner in the government,” he said.

Sheikh Khaled said the Arab League members should work collectively to preserve the Arab national security against the Iranian threats. (pickup previous)
