On Monday, December 2, 2019, supporters of the Iranian opposition group People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) gathered in Paris to express their support for the uprising and protests of Iranian people against the clerical regime in Iran.

The protesters were carrying the Iranian flag, banners, and pictures of those who have been killed by the regime’s security forces during the uprising. The supporters of Iranian resistance marched in the streets of Paris urging for International communities’ support for the Iranian people. Some of the banners read: “Iran: killing the protesters is a crime against humanity. The officials of the clerical regime must be brought before the justice for this crime.”, “silence and inaction in the face of mullah’s crimes against humanity will encourage them to continue their cruelty.”

In her message to the protesters, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) said:

“The blood of 600 rebellious youth, cries of 10000 young Iranians detained in the torture chambers of Khamenei, and cries of defiant people from all over Iran urge the world to stand up against the religious fascism in Iran. Their cry is that we have shaken the ground under the rotten rule of the mullahs in over 178 cities and by paying a very high price, we have proven that there is no other path but the overthrow of the mullahs.”

Rajavi added: “This is a test for the International community to stand alongside the Iranian people and their uprising, and condemn the suppression of the uprising of a nation.”

Mrs. Rajavi also called on the EU to put aside the appeasement policy towards the regime. She also called on France to lead a European initiative to send a fact-finding delegation to Iran’s prisons.

A few days earlier Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, called on the international community to undertake urgent measures to stop slaughter and suppression. She urged the United Nations to immediately dispatch fact-finding missions to Iran to ascertain the scope of crime against humanity perpetrated by the regime and to visit those detained. The leaders of the mullahs’ regime must face justice for committing crimes against humanity. Silence and inaction not only violate human rights principles but also embolden the ruling theocracy to continue its crimes and expand them to the region as a whole.

A number of French Parliamentarians, politicians, human rights activists, women rights activists, and mayors from different districts of Paris addressed the gathering and expressed their support for the goals of the demonstration and the demands of Iranian people for the establishment of democracy in Iran.

On December 1, 2019, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI-MEK) reported that over 600 people have been killed, and 4000 have been wounded in the uprising. It is also reported that over 10000 people have been detained. The MEK has published the names of 194 people who have been killed by the security forces in the uprising.

In its last report, London based Amnesty International reported that at least 161 protesters have been killed. Among the victims, there are teenagers of 10 to 14 years old.
