On December 21, 2023 a Syrian opposition website reports that an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) official and three Iranian drone-manufacture experts made a secret visit to the headquarters of the “47th Regiment” in Al-Bukamal, a militia subordinate to the IRGC. According to the report, the four will remain in the city in the coming days to train the militiamen in operating drones.
