Saman Oveysi, a 21-year-old Kurdish civilian, has been detained following a telephone summons to the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Mahabad, West Azerbaijan Province, in recent days.
Details of Oveysi’s place of detention and the specific charges against him remain unknown at this time.
Over the past three weeks, at least 19 Kurdish civilians and activists have been arrested in the cities of Sanandaj, Dehloran, Bukan, Oshnavieh, Sarpol-e Zahab, Ilam and Saqqez.
Of those arrested during this period, eight were sent to prison to serve their sentences.
