Deir Ezzor province: SOHR sources have reported that members of the “217th Unit Special Tasks” finished their military training by officers of the “Popular Mobilization Forces” and Lebanese “Hezbollah” in Al-Bokamal in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
Sources have confirmed that those members were trained on heavy military equipment that was brought in from Iraq, and deployed in Ain Ali area near Al-Mayadeen city “the capital of the Iranian militias in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.” After the completion of the training course, members who are confirmed to be loyal to the Iranian militias are being chosen and prepared for monthly salaries of 300 USD for each person.
It is noted that those members receive orders directly from “Al-Haj Baqer” the official of the security office.
Iranian-backed militias and Lebanese Hezbollah continue to militarize people of the region who are loyal to them within Syrian land, in order to enhance their military capabilities and consolidate their presence in Syria.
On May 7, SOHR reported the arrival of a military column of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps of 12 pick-up trucks in the Iranian centre of “Nasr” in Por Said street in Al-Orfi neighbourhood in Deir Ezzor city which is under the control of regime forces and Iranian-backed militias.
According to SOHR sources, the column’s trucks were carrying tens of IRGC members who had undergone military courses in Ayyash camps in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, as well as medium and light weapons.
