Iran’s Revolutionary Guards yesterday bombed the Bouralan border area in Maku, West Azerbaijan province, in the north-west, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.

On 6 June, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned residents of villages around the border heights of Bouralan that they would not be allowed to travel to the area for a few days.

At the same time, the KHRN has learned, they began to bombard these border heights with heavy artillery.

The shelling coincided with the IRGC deploying large numbers of troops in the cities of Oshnavieh, Piranshahr, Baneh, Marivan, Ravansar and Paveh.

This followed the bombing of Shaho Mountain in Ravansar, in the province of Kermanshah, by IRGC drones on 1 June.

In recent days, IRGC forces with heavy and semi-heavy equipment have been deployed around Mount Shaho.
