Prager University does not shy away from the hot button issue of radical Islamic terror; they are taking on the deadly group Hezbollah. Research Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies Tony Badran explains in “What Is Hezbollah” how Iran has been backing this group for years, allowing them to take over Lebanon and enter the world stage.
Badran explains that Iran is using Lebanon to aim over a hundred thousand missiles at the nation of Israel, hoping to wipe it off the face of the earth.
“And the leaders who control these missiles (and the number I gave is a low-ball estimate) belong to an organization known as Hezbollah, Arabic for ‘Party of God,’” explains Badran. “Moreover, they’re not rogue terrorists. They actually run a country, Lebanon. You should know something about them.”
Badran describes Hezbollah’s history from bombings, to murder, to hijackings. Hezbollah has used violence, intimidation, and terrorism in order to frighten, scare, and subjugate the world into bending to their will.
He continues, “Today, Hezbollah is a military force, a political party, a terrorist group and a transnational criminal organization engaged in drug trafficking, money laundering, and arms smuggling.”
“But the most important thing to remember about Hezbollah is not Hezbollah; it’s Iran,” Badran adds. “Hezbollah is an extension of Iran and it operates under its command. Don’t take my word for it. Take it from the man who has been running Hezbollah for the last twenty-five years and is now the most powerful man in Lebanon, Hassan Nasrallah.”
Badran emphasizes that Hezbollah does not just operate a terror state, but they also engage in criminal drug trafficking in order to help fund their nefarious activities, which include helping Iran to surround Israel, the United States’ greatest ally in the Middle East.
