On Wednesday, the media wing of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran, cited by Sputnik Arabic, said that Lebanon’s Hezbollah has moved its military equipment towards the Lebanese border with Israel.

This alleged news comes a day after Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, citing sources, said that “the Lebanese Hezbollah will strike Israel if the United States retaliates against the Iranian bombing of ‘Ayn Al-Assad base, which includes American forces in western Iraq.”

Hezbollah has not confirmed these reports via their official media wing; however, the Lebanese group rarely divulges its military movements inside Lebanon.

The IRGC launched on Tuesday night over 20 missiles towards two bases in Iraq that hosts the U.S. Armed Forces.

According to the Iraqi security forces, 22 missiles were launched by the IRGC, with 17 of them targeting the ‘Ayn Al-Assad Airbase in the Al-Anbar Governorate.

No casualties were reported, as an unnamed source told CNN on Wednesday that the U.S Armed Forces were tipped off about the attack before it was launched.

Iran said their missile strikes were in response to the assassination of the Quds Force commander Major-General Qassem Soleimani, along with the Deputy Commander of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (Hashd Al-Shaabi) Abu Mahdi Al-Mohandes and several other officials.
