The Iranian authorities stated on Tuesday that the commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Major General Qassem Soleimani, was the beginning of a “new awakening in the Islamic world”, and that the timing of the response to the crime of his assassination is linked to Iran’s planning.
The Secretary of the Expediency Council, Mohsen Rezaei, said in an exclusive interview with Al-Manar TV that “the timing and circumstances of the response to the assassination of the martyr, Qassem Soleimani, are related to the Islamic Republic’s own planning and courage of the Americans at the Ain Al-Assad Base.”
Rezaei commented on the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh , saying: “A new war has begun between Iran and its enemies, and this war is continuing.”
“In any case, this is another war, and it is natural that we are martyred in this war … The war is not over yet,” he continued.
The Secretary of the Expediency Council stressed that “Iran will end the war,” saying: “Iran will bring a catastrophe to the Zionist entity until the Arab countries allied with this entity realize that they have made a big mistake.”
It should be noted that Major General Qassem Soleimani was assassinated near Baghdad International Airport on January 3rd, 2020, while nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was assassinated near Tehran on November 27th, 2020.
The U.S. has claimed responsibility for the assassination of Soleimani, while no entity has claimed responsibility for killing Fakhrizadeh.
